One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530 Washington DC 20036 (202) 887-6791 (https://www.aacn.nche.edu/ccne-accreditation) CCNE Accreditation Process Update for the RN-BS Nursing Program (November 11, 2013)
On Friday, November 8, 2013, after a three day visit, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) On-site Evaluator team presented its exit interview report to the Nursing Department faculty and invited quests. The team announced that it will recommend to the CCNE Board of Commissioners that the Castleton RN-BS Nursing Program has met all four standards required for CCNE Accreditation. This is the first of three steps in the approval process and the best news at this point in the process.
Next steps: In approximately eight weeks, the team report will be written, edited by the team, submitted to CCNE staff, and then provided to Castleton. As part of the accreditation process, Castleton's Director of Nursing Education will be afforded the opportunity to respond to the team report. The team report and Castleton's written response to the team report will be provided to the Accreditation Review Committee (ARC). The ARC will meet on March 17-20, 2014 and make a confidential recommendation to the CCNE Board of Commissioners. The accreditation decision will be made by the CCNE Board at its meeting on April 22-25, 2014.
